A tropical twist to a classic recipe. Beef and pork meatballs drenched with a homemade Mango habanero sauce has the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors that you will love.
I've tasted this combo of flavors on hot wings from Wingstop and it was spicy and tangy. I wanted to replicate this sauce flavor profile that would compliment the meatballs. The combination of ground beef and ground pork will work together to bring a little more fat to the meatballs and added flavor.
If you are not into the mango habanero sauce, you can skip the sauce and make the meatballs and add to a pasta dish. T

Directions:
Meatballs Prep:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Step 2: In a large bowl, add the ground beed and ground pork along with the cilantro, onions, garlic, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Crack the egg and mix by hand until all ingredients are incorporated.

Mango Habanero Sauce Prep:
Step 5: In a blender, add the mangos, habanero peppers, jalapeño pepper, ginger, garlic cloves, water and honey and blend until all ingredients are pureed.
Step 6: In a skillet over low heat, pour the pureed mango and habanero sauce. Add the apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper.
Step 7: Let the sauce simmer for about 5 - 7 minutes stirring occasionally so that the sauce will thicken.
Step 8: Once the sauce starts bubbling, turn off heat and add juice of 1 lime. Let the sauce cool down for about 5 minutes.
Step 9: Once the sauce has cooled, take the meatballs and dip into the sauce. Make sure to coat the meatballs on all sides.
Step 10: Serve over rice and enjoy!
