Oreos are my favorite cookies and back in college I learned how to make truffles out of them and it was a game changer! You can cover these truffles with either white or milk chocolate and my signature topping is crushed candy canes because mint and chocolate is an amazing combo.
Ingredients:
1 package of Oreos
1 package of Philadelphia cream cheese
1 package of white or milk chocolate chips
3 candy canes, crushed
1 TSP coconut oil
Directions:
Step 1: In a blender or food processor, add the entire package or Oreos.
Step 2: Once the Oreos are are crushed, transfer them to a gallon sized ziplock bag.
Step 3: Add the entire package of cream cheese and make sure the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese are mixed together.
Step 4: Once the Oreo and cream cheese are mixed together, refrigerate the mix for about 2 hours.
Step 5: After 2 hours, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper then take a palm size portion of the mix and roll them into golf balls. Keep doing this until you have used up all the mix. This should make about 20 Oreo truffles.
Step 6: Once the truffles are made, add 1 TBSP of coconut oil and melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in increments of 15 seconds. Make sure the take out the chocolate chips and stir every 15 seconds so that they don't turn. The coconut oil will make the chocolate more runny and easier to dip the truffles.
Step 7: Once the chocolate is melted, dip the truffles in the chocolate and make sure it's all coated. Keep doing this until all the truffles are coated with chocolate.
Step 8: Add the crushed candy canes on top of the truffles to top off.
Step 9: Place the truffles on the same cookie sheet and then put in the refrigerator for another hour so that the chocolate hardens.
