The Perfect Christmas Brunch Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients for Dough

1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (30 secs in microwave)

½ cup granulated sugar

⅓ cup softened butter

1 TSP salt

2 eggs

4 cups flour


Ingredients for Cinnamon Roll Filling 1 cup packed brown sugar

3 TBSP cinnamon

⅓ cup butter, softened

Ingredients Cream Cheese Icing

6 tbsp butter, softened

1.5 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup whipped cream cheese

½ TSP vanilla

1 pinch of salt


Directions:

Step 1: Heat up milk for 30 seconds in microwave and add 1 packet of to the milk until yeast has dissolved.


Step 2: In a separate bowl, add sugar, softened butter, salt, eggs, and flour, mix with hand mixer or stand mixer.


Step 3: Add the milk with dissolved yeast mixture in the bowl and mix. Use the dough hook attachment if using a stand mixer.


Step 4: Place dough into an oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel and let the dough rise in a warm place or at room temperature about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.


Step 5: Using a rolling pin (or floured wine bottled) roll the dough out on a silicon mat

(or lightly floured surface), until ~18 inches long by 12 inches wide. It should be ~¼ inch thick.


Step 6: To prepare the cinnamon-sugar filling, soften butter (~10 seconds in microwave). Then using a hand mixer, combine the cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter.

Step 7: Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the surface of the dough.


Step 8: Carefully starting from the long edge, roll the dough down to the bottom edge. The roll should be about 18 inches in length. Cut the roll into ~1½ inch slices.


Step 9: Place the cut rolls into an oiled 13×9 inch pan Cover them with a damp towel. Let them rise again for another 30 minutes until they double in size.


Step 10: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, then bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.


Step 11: In a bowl, combine the powdered sugar, soften butter, vanilla and salt and using a hand mixer or whisk mix all ingredients until you get a frosting consistency.
